I was asked to animate this style frame provided, using the motion brand guidelines from Riot Games. Elements from this animation would then be reused by other motion designers to populate their frames for a bid the agency was working on.

My first animation test here had sparks of Valorant's current brand but some R&D, a more analogue and gritty vibe. The client then requested us to remain close to the current brand, which is what we see in the final video. After studying references online as well as the supplied guidelines, I rebuilt the entire style frame natively in After Effects for full flexibility and procedural animation.

By animating each of the elements as individual components, I could reuse those by mirroring them around the frame. Then I could tweak the master component for changes to then propagate across all instances, allowing for faster iteration and refinement. This also meant I could hand off the individually animated assets to fellow colleagues who could slot it into their projects with ease.
